What does KalyaaNa mean?
The name KalyaaNa comes from modern Sanskrit (Hindu) and simply translates to ‘the wellbeing of others’. Wellness is a state of wellbeing essentially a state of balance or equilibrium with one’s own life and lifestyle. Wellness implies that you take time out for your own well being. Indeed, we all aspire to a lifestyle which brings us increased health, happiness and wholeness. The understanding of ‘wholeness’ is integral to the experience and meaning of wellness. According to deep wisdom teachings the symbol of the Buddha embodied in our logo draws from the essential meaning behind the Buddha statue being a symbol of enlightenment and meditative state of awareness. Through the cultivation of rest, relaxation, mind-body purification and a completely personal and thorough inquiry we may come to experience in a small but profound way an awakening of the self. It is with this motivation and understanding that KalyaaNa is inspired and strives to achieve. KalyaaNa Spa & Wellness Retreat provides a focus for rejuvenation, relaxation and meditation; a modern sanctuary of peace and tranquility where you can liberate yourself from the stresses encountered with modern-day living. The retreats meditative practices incorporate mindfulness practices (breathing, concentration, awareness) with metta practices (loving kindness).

The KalyaaNa Spa facility does operate as a traditional day spa offering beauty spa visitation to the public. What makes KalyaaNa unique, is that it is an exclusively private spa & wellness retreat which offers accommodation as part of a stay. The retreat is essentially designed for those interested in a travel experience that combines health and wellbeing with delicious cuisine, luxurious home comforts, an extensive range of therapies & healing modalities and rejuvenating spa treatments and all in one! The KalyaaNa Spa delights in bringing guests healing spa and wellness treatments with a focus on lifestyle visitation (i.e., lifestyle transformations concerning fitness, healthy nutrition, massage, art in counselling, weight management and stress management techniques) and spiritual visitation (i.e., spiritual development & enlightenment based on specific teachings and philosophies such as a ZenFit Fusion™ session, sandplay therapy, reiki and meditation techniques). How do I prepare for my wellness spa treatment?
Upon check-in you will be requested to complete guest treatment intake forms. Please complete these forms and return them to your host Karen prior to your first initial treatment. Please allow 15-20mins to fill out the required intake forms. Karen will debrief the therapist regarding your goals and requirements based on the information you supply us and will come and collect you five minutes prior to your allocated treatment time. There are plush robes provided in your suite to change into prior to your scheduled massage treatment. Loose comfortable clothing is advised to be worn for treatments such as sound healing and meditation whilst trainers and clothing adequate for exercise should be worn for your personal training or ZenFit Fusion™ session. Arriving late for your spa and wellness services will unfortunately limit the time allocated for your treatment; it will lessen the effectiveness and more importantly your pleasure and enjoyment. Whilst we do our best to assist you with unforeseeable circumstances, such as late arrival, we cannot guarantee that changes at short notice to appointment times can be met.
